The author’s aim is to revisit a long tradition of road and street design, a potentially stimulating and fertile tradition, to force architects to consider the challenges of human traffic and – more ambitiously – to transform current infrastructures. Éric Alonzo has been working on the subject of traffic lanes for ten years, following the legacy of those who have been exploring this field of investigation since the early 1990s.
